My childhood
home in Clintonville
Home is where the heart is. Beginning in 2009, I did a painting of my great grandfather’s house in Lenox, Ohio. Since then, I have completed over 350 watercolor house portraits. Current homes, childhood homes, vacation cabins, lakeside cottages, modern homes, stately homes, and simple homes all have the potential of bringing back poignant memories.
Since 2012, I completed paintings of historic buildings and homes in my local community of Clintonville. The Clintonville Historical Society commissioned coloring books of these pictures and hosted galleries of these paintings every year from 2012 through 2016. Some of the proceeds have benefitted the Society.
In addition to house portraits, I have painted numerous churches, schools and other
buildings.
Paintings of scenes from travels have been another source of enjoyment. Scenes from the United Kingdom, Greece, Egypt, Italy, Belize, Honduras and Mexico have been recent subjects. In the United States, I have painted scenes from Arizona, South Carolina and Virginia.
As a retired educator in Columbus, Ohio, I have discovered the joys of watercolor painting, under the teaching of Brenda St. Clair. My teacher and fellow classmates provide a stimulating atmosphere for continuing to learn and develop as an artist.
